When South Florida’s winter finally hits, the best weekends aren’t about staying inside — they’re about finding something real to do with your people. From January 30 through February 1, 2026, the South Florida Folk & Acoustic Music Festival returns to the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds in Davie, bringing a weekend of live music, interactive experiences, and laid-back community energy that hits way different than your typical concert scene.
Now in its 36th year, the festival is one of Broward’s longest-running cultural traditions — but it’s anything but stuck in the past. This is a fresh, social, outdoor hang where you can bounce between stages, chill with friends, discover new artists, and soak up sounds that range from folk and Americana to bluegrass, blues, and acoustic roots.

Headliners like Livingston Taylor, John McCutcheon, and South Florida favorite Mean Mary anchor the lineup, with more than 60 artists across two stages keeping the music flowing nonstop. It’s the kind of place where you might show up for one act and leave with three new favorites.
But the festival vibe goes beyond watching music — it’s about jumping into it. Under the open-air, fully covered setup, you can dip into workshops, jam tents, songwriting sessions, and pop-up showcases, creating a rare chance to try instruments, learn from working musicians, or just experience music from the inside out. Whether you play or just love discovering cool creative spaces, the energy is welcoming, inclusive, and zero-pressure.
Saturday hosts the National Singer-Songwriter Competition, spotlighting rising talent from around the country as finalists square off before judges including WLRN’s Michael Stock and VR2 Radio’s Michael Yunis. This competition has become a legit pipeline for emerging artists — meaning you could be hearing tomorrow’s favorite songwriter before they blow up.

Sunday flips the vibe to family-forward with Kids’ Music Day (11:30 am – 3 pm) — a full afternoon of hands-on music activities, songwriting workshops with Grant Livingston, interactive circles with Mr. Noam, puppet karaoke, and make-your-own shaker sessions. Kids 12 and under get in free with adult admission, making it one of the most fun, affordable ways to introduce the next generation to live music.
Presented by the nonprofit South Florida Folk & Acoustic Music Club, the festival is rooted in one simple goal: bringing people together around music. In a world where so much happens online, this weekend is about real connection — between artists, audiences, families, creatives, and the locals who keep South Florida culture thriving.
More than just a concert, the festival supports local vendors, strengthens the community, and adds another chapter to Broward’s growing creative scene. It’s proof that great culture doesn’t only live in big venues or trendy spots — sometimes it’s found under string lights, between jam tents, and on dance floors where strangers become friends.
Whether you’re planning a weekend hang, looking for something different to do with your crew, or craving an authentic South Florida experience that hits deeper than the usual nightlife run, the South Florida Folk & Acoustic Music Festival delivers.
