On any given night in South Florida, you can find a comedy show. But every now and then, one comes along that feels less like a lineup and more like a ritual. Comedy Elixir at The Apothecary 330 is exactly that. A monthly gathering built around intention, atmosphere, and the simple but powerful idea that laughter is good for the soul.
Hosted and co-produced by comedian Vladi Yurovsky alongside fellow comic Jenny Baitch, Comedy Elixir takes place every second Thursday night of the month inside The Apothecary 330, one of Fort Lauderdale's most intimate and character-rich cocktail lounges. It’s a space that already feels like a secret, and once the comedy starts, it feels even more so.
This isn’t a bring-your-own-chair open mic. It’s a curated experience where the venue, the drinks, the food, and the comedians all matter.
A Curated Night, Not Just a Comedy Show
“The name had to match the intention,” Vladi shares. “Jenny and I really wanted this to be a higher-end, curated experience. Guests get a beautiful venue, great cocktails, solid food, and some of the best local and touring comics in the game.”

The name Comedy Elixir plays directly off Apothecary 330’s brand, but it also hints at something deeper. The idea that comedy can be restorative. That laughter can be medicinal. That for a couple of hours, people can step out of the noise of the world and just be present.
“We hope to bring just the right mix of comedians to induce feelings of happiness and fun,” Vladi says. “It’s comedy as a crafted experience, not just a mic and a stage.”
That intention shows up the moment you walk in. Low lighting. Strong cocktails. A room that encourages conversation before the show and focus once it starts. Phones go down. Attention comes back.
A Host Who Understands the Whole Picture
Vladi is quick to point out that he’s still early in his standup journey. Five years in, by comedy standards, is just the beginning. But that perspective is part of what makes Comedy Elixir work.

“In standup terms, I’m really new to the game,” he says. “I’m always interested in seeing all parts of the business and figuring out ways to make things better.”
Producing and hosting gives him that opportunity. It allows him and Jenny to work with comedians they respect and create a space where both performers and audiences feel taken care of.
“The journey is always changing,” he adds. “Doors open, doors close, but funny is funny.”
That mindset keeps Comedy Elixir flexible, fresh, and grounded in quality rather than hype.
Spotlighting the Strength of the Local Comedy Scene
Each month, Comedy Elixir features a completely new lineup, pulling from South Florida’s deep bench of comedic talent while also welcoming touring comics into the mix.
The upcoming lineup includes Oscar Diaz, known for blending years of improv and standup into a sharp, distinctive point of view; Kristi Fioravanti, whose no-nonsense delivery consistently lands big laughs; and John Gregory, a meticulous writer and fearless performer.
“Side note,” Vladi laughs, “if you ever have the opportunity to see John in a roast battle, buy a ticket immediately.”
Beyond individual performers, Vladi is energized by what’s happening locally.
“The South Florida comedy scene feels hungry right now,” he says. “There’s a lot of talent and a lot of momentum.”
Comedy Elixir taps into that energy while giving it a stage that feels intentional and elevated.
Why Comedy Still Matters
Ask Vladi why comedy resonates so deeply right now, and his answer is simple and honest.
“It gives people the ability to turn off the world for a bit and laugh,” he says.
He notices something at Comedy Elixir shows that feels increasingly rare.
“People generally aren’t looking at their phones. They’re truly in the moment. I think that speaks volumes.”
In a time when attention is fractured and stress is constant, comedy offers a shared release. A chance to breathe. A reminder that joy doesn’t have to be complicated.
“People are looking for ways to decompress and laugh,” Vladi says. “We’re grateful for the opportunity to provide that medicine or elixir for whatever ails them.”
A Monthly Ritual Worth Returning To
So what does success look like at the end of the night?
“I hope they’re carrying to-go boxes,” Vladi jokes. “Because the kitchen is awesome.”
But beyond that, his real hope is simpler.
“I hope they’re feeling a strong desire to come back.”
Comedy Elixir isn’t a one-off. It’s a monthly series happening every second Thursday, with a rotating lineup that keeps each show fresh while maintaining the same intentional energy.
If you’re looking for a night out that feels thoughtful, intimate, and genuinely fun, Comedy Elixir at Apothecary 330 is worth putting on your calendar. Not just once, but every month.
Because sometimes, the best thing you can do for yourself is sit in a dark room with strangers, put your phone away, and laugh together.
