"Choose954 Community Bike Ride" To Kick Off The Inaugural "9.5.4. Day" In Downtown FTL (9/5 @ 4PM)
Updated: Oct 14
Choose954, a social movement aimed to Cultivate Culture & Community in Broward County will be launching the Inaugural "9.5.4. Day" on September 5th @ 4PM by hosting the inaugural Choose954 Community Bike Ride departing from Society Las Olas (301 SW 1st Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL).
This socially distant community bike ride (masks required, helmets encouraged), will be lead by #Choose954 Co-Founders Evan Snow & Andrew Martineau, meeting with fellow bike loving community members at Society Las Olas ground floor (next to The Wharf) before riding through Downtown Fort Lauderdale, through the houses of Las Olas, to the beach, and beyond!
We will have 3 different tracts for riders of all levels:
"Anyone Can Ride" - Departing from Society Las Olas, Down Las Olas, Up A1A To Sunrise, Through Victoria Park, Through Flagler Village, Back To Downtown FTL/Society Las Olas. This should be approximately 7-8 miles and take approximately one hour.
"Intermediate Route" - Will take A1A To Oakland & Bayview And Then Back To Downtown FTL. (Headed up by local bicycle community activist & rider Esther Jaffe - Travel Time & Miles On Site )
"Advanced Route" - If you really want to challenge yourself you can go to Hillsboro Inlet & Back!
We encourage you to share with your friends if they have a bike or not! The goal of 9.5.4. day is to bring our community together over our shared passions, while we wish we could do this with traditional events and festivals, we feel that the need for face to face human interaction and connection is essential now more than ever. We aim to do this in a socially distant, community based, public setting through the bike ride.
We also encourage you to join in The Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale’s "Riverwalk Race" which happens to be taking place over two weeks from 8/24-9/7. Choose954 is proud to support GoRiverwalk and they're efforts to build community.
Please download the "Strava" app to track your ride and share in the Facebook event page!
