To celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month this May with pride and visibility, Tina La Porta's storefront studio space located in the Searstown Plaza in Fort Lauderdale, FL will be open for a pop-up live screen printing event that focuses on raising awareness about the role the arts play in the therapeutic process.

Images from her Side Effects and Un/covering series of work are screen printed onto donated t-shirts. Guests at the event can either bring their own t-shirt or pick from a clothing rack of pre-made shirts recycled into artistic street wear.

Inside the storefront, she has collaborated with Soundwave Art to interconnect her eight-panel visual collage work Un/covering with the eight soundtracks from her series Hearing Voices. The app can be downloaded free onto a cellphone to create an interactive experience on a mobile device.

Screenings of Art in Therapy Panel Discussion - The Therapeutic Qualities of Art in the Healing Process (Pompano Beach Cultural Center) and Art Roundtable: Side Effects (NSU Art Museum) will be on view.

For a $250 donation you can select a unique screen print on wallpaper from her flat files. Each have a word or an image screen printed onto wallpaper recycled from donated sample books.
