Florida Brewery Running Series Returns for Third Year
The meetup group for active beer lovers has added more breweries throughout the state than ever before.
When Kacy Irby and new partner Christina Rodriguez started planning this year’s running series, they didn’t expect a global pandemic to shutdown breweries throughout the state.
Luckily for the Florida Brewery Running Series coordinators, the Florida season runs through the winter rather than most northern states. The brewery running series is available in 19 states, and this year is Florida’s third season.
“I was able to observe the precautions the northern markets had to take during the spring and summer months,” Irby told Broward Beer. “Everything was looking good up until a few weeks ago.”
Since COVID-19 case numbers have been on the rise in Florida again, Irby is cautious yet hopeful this will be the most successful season yet.
“Hopefully the vaccine comes out soon,” Irby said. “Until then we’re just going to keep everything at a lower capacity and keep up with county safety rules.”
Irby told Broward Beer that the running series will only allow 50 percent capacity of each brewery at each event throughout the state. Face masks will be mandatory at every indoor location. Here’s a list of this year’s brewery running series events throughout the state of Florida…

I’m Joe Pye, and my two passions are journalism and good beer. I get to bring those two things together on BrowardBeer.com. As a Broward native – growing up in the town of Davie – I've witnessed the growth of craft beer in my neighborhood.
As a writer and reporter, I feel a calling to bring these stories to my fellow South Floridians. Someone wiser than I once told me, “There’s nothing more hypocritical than a thin-skinned journalist.” I agree and add, “You can solve any argument over a cold beer.”
