Because December in the 954 hits different.

Fort Lauderdale is trading palm-tree shade for a little North-Pole sparkle as the Broward Performing Arts Foundation launches the season with Winter Wonderland – A “Frozen” Family Celebration — a brunch-meets-Broadway blowout that wraps Broward’s downtown energy in pure Disney magic.

Set for Sunday, December 14, this isn’t your typical holiday party. It’s part festive feast, part artsy activation, part “OMG Elsa is totally real,” and it all goes down at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, the cultural heart of Fort Lauderdale.

Why Locals Care

Because Broward loves a reason to dress in tropical-winter drip, gather the crew, and head downtown for something that isn’t just fun — it funds the future of the arts. All proceeds fuel the Broward Center’s arts-in-education and community engagement programs, which means the brunch you're inhaling and the show you're singing along to help bring more creativity to more kids across the county. That’s peak 954 energy.

The Vibe

Picture this: Neon-pink sunrise energy still hanging in the air Palm trees swaying like they’re listening to a slow jam. A cool-as-ice DJ turning the Mary N. Porter Riverview Ballroom into a mini winter block party. Whimsical arts + crafts, magical face painting, frosty photo ops. A bountiful brunch buffet with themed drinks that practically demand a Boomerang.

Then the whole crowd floats into the Amaturo Theater for Slow Burn Theatre Company’s production of Disney’s Frozen, complete with jaw-dropping special effects, the iconic soundtrack, new music written just for the stage, and all the sisterhood-and-true-love feels you remember from the film.

Who’s Pulling Up

Fort Lauderdale families, arts lovers, theater-kids-turned-theater-adults, brunch enthusiasts, downtown dwellers, and anyone who’s ever screamed “Let It Go” in their car with the windows down on A1A.
